TEACHERS DAY 2019

INTERNATIONAL DOCTOR'S DAY – A VISIT TO RAINBOW CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

The students of classes XI & XII, visited the Rainbow Children Hospital at Marthahalli that specializes in post & pre-Natal care. They were accompanied by Mrs. Shruthi Chetan Gowda, Managing Trustee, RCIS Group of Institutions, Mrs. Rekha Vinod, Principal and other faculty members of RCIS-K.

They were taken on a guided tour around the hospital, they visited the ICU, CCU and various other blocks, specially the cerebral Palsy Lab – which is the largest one in the country. The interactive session with the in-house doctors served both as motivation and an eye-opener into the life of a Doctor – which demands precision skills as well as an understanding and empathy for human life. It truly sensitized the children and encouraged them to opt for the medical field through which they can Touch and Change Lives.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Yoga is considered the fountain of youth. At RCIS-K, it was observed with much enthusiasm by students at all levels.

They performed several asanas under the able guidance of their Physical Education teachers, to commemorate this day; as well as understand the positive impact yoga has on our lives

CHILDRENS DAY

The Children’s Day at Royale Concorde International School was celebrated with pomp and show on 14th November. The children were allowed to come in colour dresses and a short programme in the assembly was presented by the teachers. Tiny tots of Kindergarten and primary class children lit the lamp and paid respect to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose birthday was observed.

The cultural programme included a melodious group song, an interesting and worth mentioning action song from KG teachers and two spectacular group dances by primary teachers.

Children danced on foot thumping music and had a great time. Principal Ma’am blessed the children with her encouraging words. The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks.

ROBOTICS

"Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I may remember, Involve me and I learn.'

Robotics was introduced this Academic year to our students. For getting the children ready for the 21st century by reinventing Science and Technology education. Bringing hands on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to classrooms. Robotics is motivating students towards science and re-inventing education in technology arena. Robotics instils scientific temper in our students through innovative programs. Building a robot is itself fun and exciting.

The students of Class IV made many simple robots using their innovative ideas. They were given a challenge to make a robot which helps in shifting things from one class to another.

The students of classes VII and VIII, Started off building remote controlled robots and later constructed programming based robots like automated cars and touch sensory robots.

Robotics provides all participants with the opportunity to show their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students shall become successful learners in a rapidly changing global environment through hands-on experience. Participation in this program shall teach students to plan and manage projects starting from research and brainstorming to a fully-functional robot. These young adults shall become lifelong learners who can utilize their newly acquired skills.

TALENT WEEK 2016-17

Young children have an ocean of hidden talent amongst them and it was displayed at the "KG Talent week" conducted in Oct 2016. The main reason behind organizing these competitions is to nurture the intrinsic qualities of students and remove the fear of stage thus helping them to enhance their confidence level for the overall personality development.

The Montessorians participated in Dress Me Up, Fun with Bread and Paper tearing competitions. Food Around the World", Diya decoration and Clay modelling were organised for our LKG Children. The competition held for the UKG children were story with Puppet, Vegetable carving and craft with paper.

The judges had a tough time in selecting the winners as each performance seemed better than the previous. Special thanks to our team, parents and our little ones for making this event successful.

STUDY PROGRAMS AT CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES

On the 30th of August 2016, Royale Concorde International School kalyan Nagar hosted a delegation from Canadian Universities Admission Centre, which sought to provide an Orientation on the Study programs and Career Opportunities that Canada offers. The presentation was delivered by its chief representative Mr. Mel Broitman.

The programme started with an invocation song to the Almighty, which reverberated the ethos of the Indian culture. Our Honorable Chairman Shri L. R. Shivarame Gowda, Academic Director Dr. Muralikrishna C and Principal Mrs. Rekha Vinod felicitated the representatives of the Organisation.

Mr. Mel acquainted the students with the courses, as well as the education system prevalent in Canada, which he felt would enable the children to make clear decisions about their careers.

The refreshing session interspersed with humour had the children’s undivided attention which was brought to its culmination with an interactive session, where the students got an opportunity to clear their doubts, which of course, quite predictably was done in the most effective manner. The day’s proceedings were brought to a fitting closure by the School Captain Master Gaurav who proposed the Vote of Thanks.

STUDENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME by Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan.

RCIS higher secondary students witnessed an orientation programme conducted in their campus by the representatives of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University on the 28th of July.

The Principal of RCIS, Kalyan Nagar Mrs. Rekha Vinod briefed the students the purpose behind the dignitaries’ visit to the school.

The programme started at the specified time with the felicitation of three dignitaries from APU Mr. Kondo Sensei (Admissions Dean), Mr. Daniel Smiley (Admissions Officer) and Mr. Vishnu Vankayala (The Overseas Representative of India). A short introduction by the School Captain set the stage for the beginning of the session. The students were more than fervent to hear the Japanese delegates introduce them to one of the premier institutions of the island.

Mr. Kondo spoke about the various undergraduate programmes APU offers, predominantly APM (Bachelor of Business administration) and APS (Bachelor of Social Science). He further informed the students of the dual language education system followed at APU.

Located in Japan’s major city of Beppu, it offers students from across the globe various facilities. The fees structure, mode of application, scholarships granted by APU and other relevant details were shared.

The interactive session came to an end with the School Vice-Captain proposing the vote of thanks.

VANAMAHOTSAVA

Vanamahotsava was celebrated by the students of Royale Concorde International School, Kaylan Nagar as a part of ISA activity. Students participated enthusiastically by planting saplings in Chellikere area. They pledged that they will plant one sapling every year on their birthday and look after it. Trees are our best friends. Trees are older than men. It is our duty to take care of our great friend for our own survival and survival of birds, insects and creatures.

Celebrating Vanamahotsava is our Indian way of saving and preserving trees. Countries all over the world are understanding the significance of saving trees.

SCHOOL AWARD !!!

RCIS, Kalyan Nagar received the trophy from Bangalore Sahodaya Schools Complex for securing 3rd highest number of A1 grades in Physics for AISSCE 2016 by Sri. M Kannan, R&D, TVS Motor Company.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

"Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas" commonly referred as International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2016, the second year since its inception in 2015. The students participated in bringing the awareness of benefits of Yoga to the modern day students. The yoga teachers stressed on bringing a balance between body, mind and nature. The students were oriented on the role of Yoga in bringing physical and mental discipline through regular practice.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2016

The Investiture Ceremony is definitely one of the significant events of the school, and a defining moment in the lives of student leaders, who are torch bearers of tomorrow, Therefore nurturing them and fostering in them a sense of self respect and self discipline teaches them lifelong skills of being powerful and caring and at the same time making them responsible citizens. This is the day when the new office bearers are vested with responsibility to uphold the values and traditions of the school while discharging their duties judiciously and impartially.

The Chief Guest ACP S. Badrinath emphasized on the need to embark on a quest for wisdom because there lies true wealth. The Guest of Honour was Inspector Ramesh, who also graced the occasion. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem.

WORLD SCHOOL COUNCIL ACCREDITATION

THE UKG GRADUATION DAY 2015-16

The Graduation Day of the Upper Kindergarten was celebrated on 5th March, 2016. Beholding the theme 'We are the world', the proud little champs stood confidently and sang beautifully, doing their parents and teachers proud. Smt. Maria .F. Madtha, Vice President of Association for Social Health in India an NGO for Karnataka branch, and a counsellor at Turning Point, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Nina Sebastian of U.K.G 'C' shared her 'Joyous Experiences' of the past three years.

Mrs.NamithaWadhwa shared her experience as a parent which was followed by the rendition of the song - I am the promise, that indeed exhibited the verve of being the proud students of RCIS. The Chief Guest was impressed by the performance of the little ones and appreciated the efforts of the school. The event ended with the award ceremony wherethe young achievers were bestowed with deserving accolades.

GRADUATION DAY OF STD X AND XII

The students of classes X and XII of Royale Concorde International School bid adieu to their alma mater on 22nd January. The evening wound around the theme "Aspire, Act, Achieve"

The ceremony was graced by the Registrar of Bangalore University, Ms. K. Seethamma. The other dignitaries were Managing Trustee, Dr. Ms. Bhavya Gowda and Secretary, Mrs. Sudha Gowda and Heads of the Institution. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, rendition of scriptures followed by the ceremonial oath taking. The School Captain handed over the mantle of responsibility to the Vice Captain. Meritorious students and toppers were acknowledged for their efforts and perseverance. The Principal, Ms. Rekha Vinod gave a heartwarming speech and inspired the students to achieve their targets through a simple law of inertia.

The Chief Guest spoke eloquently and reminded the students that the teachers were the single most educational resource of any country and educational institutions were the sanctuaries of an intellectual life of a country. She reiterated that today’s children have the freedom to shape their future with vision, knowledge, courage and have a great future ahead.

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE

CONCORDIA

Royale Concorde International School celebrated its Annual Day - ‘Concordia’ with great splendour on 26th November 2015. The theme was a confluence of harmony, love, peace and strongly sent across a message of universal brotherhood and tolerance. It brought together people from all walks of life, transcending all cultures, generations and communities.

The programme began with an invocation followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief guest Mr. L.R. Shivarame Gowda. Dr. Zachariah, Senior Director Operations, Fortius Universitas was the Guest of honour. The Principal addressed the gathering by presenting the school report that traced the progress, major events and achievements of the school.

The life-size props, light effects and music brought out the museum characters alive, giving an extraordinary experience to the awestruck audience. The whole show was a wonderful fusion of eastern & western culture. A stunning sequence of various dance forms like Tribal, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Mexican, Russian, Classical dance from around the Globe exhilarated the audience and transported them to different lands. The history of the world with its diverse customs, cultures and political issues was portrayed through skits, dramas, speeches, music and dance. The programme rose to a final crescendo with the grand finale and ended in a beautiful resonance lingering in the minds of everyone.

THE LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR

Students of high school went to visit "The little sisters of the poor", a home for the elderly on 19th September 2015. We have been associated with them for the past 7 years. RCIS students voluntarily donated items like biscuits, jam, pickle, sauce, soap, toothpaste etc.

Students of RCIS voluntarily donated Rs. 1,96,660/- for "Power of One" Campaign, an NGO which works towards empowering underprivileged children through education and skill development.

ASTRA 2015

When more than 300+ participants participate in an Inter School Event, its bound to be a fun filled day. While there was enthusiasm all around, what everybody could witness was the talent of each participant which was brought to the foray in ASTRA 2015.

The event by inaugurated by Mr. Chetan Gowda and the prize distribution was done by Ms. Bhavya Gowda.

ASTRA 2015 was organized on 30th and 31st of July to strengthen the bond of friendship with various schools. Students of various schools were brought together on one platform to exhibit their prowess. The fest scheduled for two days saw more than 300 participants competing in 23 events. The winner’s trophy was bagged by HAL Public School and the Runners up trophy was won by DPS North.

TEACHERS DAY

Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great gusto at Royale Concorde International School. Chairman Mr. L.R.Shivarame Gowda & Smt. Sudha Shivarame Gowda were the chief guests for the event.

The students organized a colourful and entertaining cultural programme. An earnest tribute was paid to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The Chairman appreciated the collective effort of the teachers and bestowed them with awards.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Royale Concorde International School celebrated Independence Day with much pride and fervor. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolour by Chairman Mr. L.R.Shivarame Gowda, who was the chief guest for the day. This was followed by pledge, National Anthem, Inter House Group song competition and dance which captured the true spirit of patriotism.

Athena house emerged the winners. The chairman urged students to become worthy and responsible citizens of our country. On this day, the toppers of class X & XII were appreciated for their meritorious performance in the borad exam.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The solemn Investiture ceremony, held on June 24th, marked a significant beginning of the new academic session. The young students were all prepared to don the mantle of responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. The new office bearers were inducted into the student council.

Mr. Rengarajan Bashyam, Vice President of Cognizant Technologies graced the occasion and the new office bearers were inducted into the student council. His speech on true leadership gave the students a peek into the role played by an indeal leader. the school magazine 'Synergy' was also released.

School captain Aditya Rao proposed the vote of thanks.

KG SPORTS DAY

The Kindergarten sports day focused on the theme "Hamara Pyara Hindustan". It was held on 22nd of September. Mr Jeeth Devaiah, a National Hockey player graced the occasion. The tiny tots looked colourful in their costumes. Various programmes like displays, novelty races, parents and grandparent’s race filled the air with joy and excitement.

Ms. Bhavya Gowda also presided over the event and gave away the prizes.

PRIMARY SPORTS DAY

Primary sports day was held on the 23rd of September. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Adithya R Prakash, a renowed badminton player. There were various colorful displays like Zumba - a dance drill, a football drill performance by the little ones followed by a scintillating display of Table tennis dance moves. Another splendid performance was put up by the upcoming hockey champions which showed the true sportsman spirit that “We” as Indians have for our National game Hockey.

Ms. Bhavya Gowda also presided over the event and gave away the prizes.
