For Pre-Primary

Pre-Primary Level

Assesment System

Formative and Summative tests are done to evaluate the child’s academic performance at this stage. The academic calendar is divided into two terms with two formative and one summative assessment by the end of each term.

Primary Level

The primary curriculum of RCIS is based on the NCERT framework as per CBSE. The students will achieve fluency in spoken and written English through interactive teaching methods.

Home work and project guidelines

Parents will be expected to refer to the student diary regularly and ensure that homework is completed and submitted in the allocated time by the student. Parental involvement in the child’s learning process lays the foundation for future success.

Assessments

Continuous assessments through Unit Tests, Class Tests, Work sheets, Mental Maths and Dictations form a part of the evaluation process. Progress reports of the child will be discussed and handed over during the Parent – Teacher Meetings. Students’ assessment also includes assessment of conduct, discipline and participation in school activities.

Middle and Secondary Level

Classes V - VIII

As the child enters this stage, the pace of academics is accelerated. Students are encouraged to question, hypothesize, analyse and be creative. We follow the three-language policy of CBSE. Hindi, Kannada & Sanskrit/French are offered as the 3rd language at this stage. Curriculum is based on teamwork vis-à-vis group discussions and group projects, activity based and experimentation. The student learns the basic concepts of Maths and Science by doing activities in the Maths & Science laboratories.

Classes IX - X Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

An integrated two-year curriculum and assessment offered by the CBSE is followed at this level. CBSE aims at a holistic assessment of the learner which includes Scholastic (theory & internals) and Co-Scholastic areas. Special emphasis is given to life skills, values, sports and co-curricular activities. The subjects offered are English, Hindi/Kannada, Mathematics, General Science, Social Science along with Artificial Intelligence as the 6th subject. Students get to opt for Mathematics in two variants for grade X board exams.

  • Standard Maths – If one opts for science subjects in higher classes.
  • Basic Maths – If one opts for non-science subjects in higher classes.

Curriculum is distributed into two terms in an academic year and students will attempt two term end examinations.

Assessments

Regular internal assessments are carried out through periodic tests, cycle tests (Multiple tests), Subject enrichment activities, Projects & Portfolios. Promotion is based on the internal assessment and theory exam conducted at the end of term-1 and term-2 of the academic year. The assessment also lays emphasis on conduct, discipline, skills, values, sports and co-curricular activities.

Senior Secondary Level
